Why are my cursive letters cutting out separately?

Design Space treats each letter as its own shape, even in a script font. Until the letters overlap and you Weld them, the machine cuts every letter separately.

The fix

  1. 1Select the text and lower Letter Space until every letter overlaps the next one a little.
  2. 2Zoom to 200% and check each join; a tiny gap still cuts as two pieces.
  3. 3Duplicate the text and hide the copy, in case you need to change a word later.
  4. 4Select the text and click Weld. It now cuts as one piece.
